Prayers for All the Faithful Departed

The souls of the righteous are in the hand of God,
and no torment shall touch them …
they are in peace.

(Wisdom 3:1&3)

Oct. 25, 2019 - As we approach the Feast of All the Faithful Departed on Nov. 2, please remember the members of the Jesuits USA Central and Southern Province who have died in the past year:

  • Fr. Frank J. Schmitt, SJ, Nov. 3, 2018
  • Fr. Francis C. Brennan, SJ, Jan. 11, 2019
  • Br. Harold A. Teel, SJ, Feb. 5, 2019
  • Fr. Brian Garry, SJ, May 16, 2019
  • Fr. Paul Osterle, SJ, June 14, 2019
  • Br. William “Billy” Dardis, SJ, July 10, 2019

Together we pray:

Into your hands, O Lord,
we humbly entrust our brothers.
In this life you embraced them with your tender love;
deliver them now from every evil
and bid them eternal rest.

The old order has passed away:
welcome them into paradise,
where there will be no sorrow, no weeping or pain,
but fullness of peace and joy
with your Son and the Holy Spirit
forever and ever.

Amen.

Know that the members of this province pray for our benefactors and friends. If you would like us to pray for a loved one, please submit his/her name online.
