Biography

Father Dirk Dunfee, SJ, is celebrating 25 years as a Jesuit priest. 

Fr. Dunfee has earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy, a juris doctorate, a master’s degree and Master of Divinity in theology, plus a Bachelor of Science and master’s degree in nursing.  

After being ordained at St. Matthew the Apostle Parish in St. Louis, he spent a year there in special studies before serving as an associate pastor at St. Francis Xavier Parish in Kansas City, Mo.  

Next came an assignment as minister and treasurer of the Rockhurst Jesuit Community before returning to school for his two nursing degrees.  

Father Dunfee spent five years as a nurse practitioner in Kansas City before moving to Denver in 2014. 

Since 2018, he has served as pastor of St. Ignatius Loyola Parish.
