Father Gary Seibert, SJ, has been a priest for 50 years, currently serving the Church and the Society of Jesus in a ministry of prayer.
A St. Louis native, Fr. Seibert served much of his ministry in New York City. He was on staff at America House, worked as the publications editor for the Catholic Near East Welfare Association (1989) and served in pastoral ministries while teaching locally.
He began his active ministry when he taught English, Greek and Latin at Marquette University High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Since then, he has served as a teacher at Regis College (now University) in Denver (1976 – 1986) and at local colleges in New York City (1991 – 2001).
He also served as an associate professor of theater and communications at Saint Louis University for many years (2002 – 2013), including a nine-month assignment as the pastoral minister for SLU’s Health Science Campus.
Father Seibert earned a bachelor’s in classics at Saint Louis University, a master’s in English at Marquette University, and a Master of Fine Arts in drama.
