25 Years a Priest
Father Thomas G. Cwik, SJ, celebrates his 25th anniversary as a Jesuit priest in 2025. He currently serves as a pastoral minister in North Saint Louis.
Born in Evergreen Park, Illinois, Fr. Cwik entered the Society of Jesus at the Jesuit Novitiate in Denver on Aug. 18, 1990. He pronounced first vows on Aug. 16, 1992, at St. Ignatius Loyola Church in Denver, and was ordained June 17, 2000, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, also in Denver.
During his years of Jesuit and priestly ministry, Fr. Cwik has served in parish ministry at St. Ignatius Loyola in Denver, St. Francis Xavier in Kansas City, Missouri, and St. Francis Xavier College Church in St. Louis. He served as pastoral minister and retreat director at Sacred Heart Jesuit Retreat House in Sedalia, Colorado, from 2021 through 2023. Father Cwik has also has served the former Missouri Province of the Society of Jesus as provincial assistant for social ministries.
Father Cwik earned both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in economics from the University of Illinois before entering the Society of Jesus. During his formation, he studied philosophy at Saint Louis University and earned a Master of Divinity at the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley.
