Dear Friend,

Each Lenten Season offers us a wonderful opportunity for spiritual renewal and deeper appreciation of our Catholic faith. It is the season to spend more time in prayer and in meditating on the meaning of the Scriptures.

We might even consider Lent as a type of 40-day retreat to be undertaken within the context of daily life. The external practices of receiving ashes on Ash Wednesday, abstaining from meat on Fridays, and making the Stations of the Cross help us to mark this time.

This Lent, you might also want to join Gretchen Crowder, a campus minister from Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas, who invites us to “Lean into Our Belovedness” – the magnanimous love God has for each of us. Gretchen offers some suggestions here and will share a new reflection each week during Lent. You can find them here.

God is always inviting us into a closer relationship with Him. Any extra time we spend during Lent in prayer and reflection will make God even more present to us and even more central to our lives.

As we continue to pray for you and yours, we request that you keep all of our Jesuits in your Lenten prayers as well. To make a gift to support our work, click here

Yours in Christ,

Very Rev. Thomas P. Greene, SJ
