Are you a recent or soon-to-be college graduate considering full-time service for your next step? The Jesuit Alum Service Corps (ASC) is now accepting applications for service in a Jesuit high school beginning this July through June 2025.
The Alum Service Corps is open to alumni of Jesuit secondary and higher education institutions and places new graduates in full-time teaching positions in Jesuit middle and high schools in the province. Members of the ASC live in community and participate in Ignatian formation opportunities while contributing as faculty members to the ongoing mission of Jesuit educational institutions.
What does ASC service involve?
Volunteers with the ASC typically serve as teachers of two to three class sections in an area of their competency. They also serve in other roles in their school communities, such as coaching, tutoring, moderating clubs and activities, or in campus ministry. Through their presence in the school communities, ASC volunteers are living examples of the profile of a Jesuit Graduate at Graduation.
What is life like for ASC volunteers?
ASC volunteers live in an Ignatian intentional community. Weekly community nights with the Jesuits, a community forged through prayer and sharing stories with fellow ASC volunteers, and three retreats throughout the service year offer ample opportunities to integrate Ignatian service and spirituality.
What do ASC members do next?
Service in the ASC prepares volunteers for continuing careers in secondary and pre-secondary education, graduate studies or work in other fields. Some members of the ASC go on to religious vocations, including with the Society of Jesus. ASC volunteers give back while they move ahead.
How can I apply?
Applications for the 2024-25 school year opened in September and are typically accepted through March, or until all positions are filled. Interviews and placements are currently being conducted.
